NPORS Safe Working at Height (N404) Course Content

 

It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training, the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

➢ Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working at height, and their roles and responsibilities for performing tasks at height

➢ Be able to define working at height and identify hazards of work above ground level, and outline the general requirements necessary to control them

➢ Be able to identify accident causation in work at height 

➢ Have an appreciation of planning and organising work at height 

➢ Set up exclusion zones explaining actions required for emergency actions, identifying overhead hazards 

➢ Identify PPE that is appropriate for safe working at height 

➢Demonstrate working at height and explain all safety issues that could arise 

Course duration

Novice course - 1/2 Day

Refresher - 1 days (Providing the current candidate has qualified for the category)

Assessments 

NPORS Theory assessment made up of open questions and multiple choice.

NPORS Practical assessment.

 

Certification

Traditional NPORS Card

or entrants that wish to apply for the NPORS Traditional Card, there is no requirement to do an NVQ qualification.  If the 'HS&E TESTED Logo' is required on the card, entrants must ensure they have attended and passed the CITB operatives touchscreen within the two years prior to application for the card.
