NPORS Crusher Course (N207) Content
It is envisaged that by the end of the training, the trainee operator will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry, and their responsibilities as a plant operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer's handbook and be familiar with other sources of information available, including relevant legislation
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers' and legislative requirements
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate when using a crusher
- Safely mount and dismount the crusher
- Stop and start the engine, belts, feeder, and jaws/hammers safely
- Configure the machine for travel across varying terrain
- Conduct all necessary safety checks in the work area
- Prepare the machine for use and operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Explain the different types of crushers, the advantages and disadvantages of using and how they crush the desired material
- Communicate with the loading operator, establishing agreed-upon signs, desired product size and production speed
- Carry out an emergency stop/safety precautions
- Carry out crushing tasks
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for the crusher transportation
- Environmental considerations
- Carry out end-of-shift checks
Course duration
Novice course - 3 Days
Experienced worker test (EWT) - 1 day test only
Refresher - 1 day (previous registration number to be available)
Assessments
NPORS Theory assessment made up of open questions and multiple choice.
NPORS Practical assessment.
Certification
Traditional NPORS Card
For entrants that wish to apply for the NPORS Traditional Card, there is no requirement to do an NVQ qualification. If the 'HS&E TESTED Logo' is required on the card, entrants must ensure they have attended and passed the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test within the two years prior to application for the card.
