NPORS Quick Hitch Awareness (N726) Course Content
It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training, the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
Please have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry, and their responsibilities regarding Quick Hitches.
➢ Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry, and their responsibilities as a plant operator
➢ Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular Quick Hitch to be used
➢ Be able to locate and identify the major components of the Quick Hitch and explain their functions
➢ Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for Quick Hitch use
➢ Be able to explain the different types of Quick Hitch devices
➢ Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
➢ Conduct all necessary safety checks at the designated changeover area
➢ Fit and remove attachments safely and efficiently
➢ Demonstrate and explain checks for attachment security
➢ Carry out all end-of-shift and shutdown procedures
Course duration
Novice course - 1 Day
Refresher - 1 day (Providing the current candidate has qualified for the category)
Experienced work tests (EWT) 1 day (Test only)
Assessments
NPORS Theory assessment made up of open questions and multiple choice.
NPORS Practical assessment.
Certification
Traditional NPORS Card
or entrants that wish to apply for the NPORS Traditional Card, there is no requirement to do an NVQ qualification. If the 'HS&E TESTED Logo' is required on the card, entrants must ensure they have attended and passed the CITB operatives touchscreen within the two years prior to application for the card.
