NPORS Agricultural Tractor (N601) Course Content
To provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

-Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operative
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer's handbook and be familiar with other sources of information available including relevant legislation
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate when using a tractor
- Select suitable types of attachments relative to the work being undertaken
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Prepare the machine for use and operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Environmental considerations
- Storage and transport of tractor and attachments

Course duration

Novice course - 3 Days 

Experianced worker test (EWT) - 1 day test only

Refresher - 1 day (previous registration number to be available)

Assessments 

NPORS Theory assessment made up of open questions and multiple choice.

NPORS Practical assessment.

Certification

Traditional NPORS Card

For entrants that wish to apply for the NPORS Traditional Card, there is no requirement to do an NVQ qualification.  If the 'HS&E TESTED Logo' is required on the card, entrants must ensure they have attended and passed the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test within the two years prior to application for the card.
